When Sam was 8 months old he was entered in his first show, the American Chesapeake Club's National Specialty Show.  After spending only 30 minutes with his handler, Dana Mercier (also his sire's co-owner),  Sam preformed very well winning a Sweepstakes 4th and a Regular Class 2nd.   He continued to be shown by myself to finish his CH title on January 21st in Novi, MI by taking a major for WD behind his sister who took BOW & BOS and his sire who took BOB.  Since then Sam took first place in the Hunting Dog Class a the 2005 ACC National Specialty Show. 

Sam started running AKC Senior hunt tests at 15 months of age, finishing his SH title at 17 months of age and went on to aquire his first master leg at 20 months of age. On June 13th at Madison Retriever Club, at 28 months, Sam finished his AKC Master Hunt Title and a week later earned his CGC and TDI certifications.  By the end of July Sam had qualified to run the 2005 Master National and by the end of October was 2 passes short of qualifing for the 2006 Master National.  He currently has 2 of the 5 passes needed to qualify to run the 2007 Master National.
